My Friend, His Filofax and His Mont Blanc Fountain Pen

These days everyone seems to have a Blackberry, Android or iPhone – it’s the era of the smart phone and handheld device.  So imagine my surprise when I saw my friend pop out his filofax (you read that right) and his mont blanc pen and wrote down a contact name and number.  I asked him if he’d noticed technological advancements taking place over the last 20 years.  He gave a wry smile and said it’s his way of remembering contacts and appointments.  By writing it down, he also committed everything into his own memory.  He told me he didn’t need reminders like you do with all the latest devices.  Maybe he has a point!
