King Tut and his sister

How weird is this? King Tut married his half sister – Ankhesanamum ( a bit of a mouthful I know – I wonder if she had a nickname?). He married her when he was just nine years old and she just thirteen. I guess because they needed two rulers and it probably balanced out the fact that he was so young. They seemed to have bad luck, as she had two failed pregnancies – one still born and a miscarriage. After King Tut died, Ankhesanamum re-married Kheperkheprure Ay who some think might have been her grandfather. Those ancient Egyptians sure had a weird sense of family values…
