This is important to the subject you are learning because to hypnotise someone, you have to reach for their better side. In other words people won’t volunteer if they dislike you or your attitude. The people you are hoping will volunteer are more likely to come willingly if you come across as reasonably trustworthy. Naturally most people at hypnosis shows will expect themselves to be acting silly should they volunteer, but there has to be a certain amount of trust towards the hypnotist otherwise they’ll not take part.
