Stop ‘em in Their Tracks – The Sportdog 800

As a trainer I’ve used a lot of different training collars to train hunting dogs.  One of the best and simplest to use is the SportDOG 800 training collar.  It has a range up to a mile, and you can adjust the intensity to accommodate the most timid to the most stubborn dog.  Unlike many others, this system emits a beep just before the electronic burst;  so over time the dog learns to respond to just the beep.  This collar also has a rechargeable battery that gives up to 20 hours of use from each charge, and it is particularly effective stopping a dog that has set off after the game before he causes a feathery disaster.  So with a long-range transmitter, 8 levels of intensity, and rechargeable battery all in a waterproof unit, this is the collar that I choose to train my hunting dogs every time.
