Does Crate Training Work?

My neighbor told me that crates worked very well for his dog and that his potty training problem was solved within a pretty short amount of time from using crate training. I think I’ll stop by the local pet shop and see what they recommend that I do. I just don’t want to make him uncomfortable in one of those crates. From what I hear, that usually isn’t a problem because of the way they are built, but I am still cautious to put him in one.
