Chicken curry ‘ who does not like it?

I remember the time when I was a paying guest at the house of an English woman who was working and living in Holland. Another guest was a very nice girl from Japan who came to work at the same lab I was working in. Our landlady loved Indian food and I used to throw a party now and then for all of us in the house. Our Japanese friend will suffer when I served chicken curry, though it was made esspecially mild for her. Out land lady also suffered because it was not hot enough for her taste buds! I always wondered how is it that our Japanese friend could tuck into hot Japanese radish with relish, something I found so hot and made my eyes water, but protested that the chicken curry was too hot for her. I decided that it was all psychological, because I would add a good amount of ground chillies to the curry, when she was not looking. She would thoroughly enjoy the chicken curry, and I would have my laugh!
