Panic Attack Treatment Medication

Panic attacks with children and adults alike, have the ability to cause severe medical and mental issues that include substance abuse, suicidal behaviors, and depression. Most people that visit emergency rooms because of chest pain are actually experiencing panic attacks. Because of the intensity of the disorder, there are specific panic attack medication that is available to control the attacks. Due to extensive research done on panic attacks, several medications can be prescribed as well as sessions of psychotherapy. Medications that are approved by FDA include Zoloft, Paxil, Klonopin and Xanax. Though most turn to medication for the answer to their problems, psychotherapy treatment is just as important, and has been proven to be more effective either alone or paired with medication.
