One of the things that really struck me as something that I could really do were the outdoor wood furnaces. I was amazed by how easy they were to operate, and how much actual heat you can get from them. I was also very impressed with the ability to not only heat your water, but to provide electricity with a generator. We are building a new home in the fall, and I am sure this is the type of heat we will be getting.
